The day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor with the intent of making the United States unable to defend it's colonies in the Pacific. The U. S. then declared war on Japan, Germany declared war on the U.S. and pretty much everyone was involved in killing one another for a while thereafter. We seem to have had one war or another going on ever since. Actually that war was merely a continuation of World War I, so we can consider that there's been a war somewhere or another for the last century. I, for one, think it is about time we stopped.
